Nasarawa Police Arrests 24 Political Thugs

Operatives of the Nasarawa Police Command have arrested twenty-four suspected political thugs in the state.

According to a statement signed by the police spokesman, Muyiwa Adejobi, the suspects were working for a 2023 aspirant.

They were apprehended by Keffi Area Command officers at Minki Suites, along Keffi-Akwanga Road.

Adejobi disclosed that the politician contested in the Nasarawa West Senatorial primaries.

The police acted on intelligence after a convoy of seven private vehicles entered the hotel.

Items recovered include eight pump action guns, two locally-made revolver guns, thirty-seven rounds of live cartridges, and four bulletproof vests.

Others are twenty-seven mobile phones, two pairs of vigilante uniforms, five cutlasses, and ten assorted knives and charms.

Adejobi added that the thugs “carry out their heinous acts under the guise of being members of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN).”
